Matt helped power DraftKings Casino’s first $1B in U.S. revenue, pushed Arccos Golf past a billion recorded shots, then built the growth engine behind The Long Drink’s $325M sale to the makers of White Claw. Three categories, three inflection points, same job. Now he builds his own: Greenside Golf Club in South Boston, Greenside AI’s patent-pending swing analysis, and growth at ATXP, the agentic payments protocol. He ran the numbers a thousand ways. Then he signed the lease.
Henry Sheffield
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Henry builds things that have to survive contact with the real world. A mechanical engineer by training, he took hardware and software from concept to production across robotics and autonomy, put in years at Amazon, and now backs frontier industrial and defense technology as a Principal at Bravo Victor Venture Capital. In 2023 he lived a block from where Greenside now sits. He was early to that neighborhood too.
Started as a Phone Call
Hardly Professional started as a phone call, not a pitch deck. October 2025: one of us in Chicago staring out at Wells Street, one of us in Boston halfway through opening a golf club. We didn’t want to run a venture firm. We weren’t sure we wanted to be consultants either. We wanted the thing in between: a partnership that jumps in, opens the network, and gets it built. So we incorporated the joke.
